1. Using tool (A), remove fuel filter (5). 2. Disconnect hose assemblies (1) and (4) from fuel filter base (3).3. Remove two bolts (2) and the washers that hold fuel filter base (3) in position. Remove fuel filter base (3).4. Remove the fuel priming pump from the fuel filter base.5. If necessary, remove the fuel filter mounting stud from the fuel filter base. The following steps are for the installation of the fuel filter and fuel filter base.6. If the fuel filter mounting stud was removed from the fuel filter base, reinstall it. Put 9S3263 Thread Lock on the tapered end of the stud to a distance of 7.6 mm (.30 in). Install the stud in the fuel filter base, and tighten it to a torque of 70 15 N m (50 11 lb ft).7. Install the fuel priming pump on the fuel filter base.8. Put fuel filter base (3) in position on the engine, and install two washers and bolts (2) that hold it.9. Connect hose assemblies (1) and (4) to the fuel filter base.10. Install a new fuel filter (5). Follow the instructions with the filter for the installation procedure.
