Place the system in a de-energized state. Refer to the shutdown procedure that is in Systems Operation Testing and Adjusting, RENR2476, "MMS System Shutdown".

Connect a PC (35) to the "Parallel Cabinet Interface" (PCI) board (6). The PCI board (6) is located in the system cabinet. Refer to Illustration 2 and to Illustration 6.

Place the CSView/UPSView selector switch (40) to the required position for the desired MMU.

Energize the system according to the "SMS System Startup" or the "MMS System Startup" procedures that are in Systems Operation Testing and Adjusting, RENR2476.
Turn on the PC.
Double click the CSView/UPSView icon that is on the PC desktop in order to start the CSView/UPSView software.
Click "PC Settings" on the menu bar. A drop-down menu will appear.
Click "Settings". The "CSView/UPS View Connection Settings" dialog will open.
Select the "Direct Connect (serial)" button.
Select the PC COM port for the serial connection. Check the baud rate. The "Detailed MMU telemetry" button must be checked.
Select the "Serial/Modem Port Number" that is appropriate for the PC.
Select the desired "Serial/Modem Baud Rate". The default baud rate is 38400.
Ensure that the "Detailed Telemetry" button is selected.
Click the "OK".
Click "Connection" on the menu bar. A drop-down menu will appear.
Click "Connect". The PC should now be connected to the UPS. Telemetry signals will not be available until the "APC Not Configured" parameter is set to "0" (zero). Information that is stored in the text log will be displayed.
Press "Ctrl+F" in order to access the serial number and the "seed value" information.Note: In order to obtain a "engineering level password", the technical communicator must be provided with the following information.
MMU serial number
Seed value
Confirmation that the system been stored at an ambient temperature of 15° C (59° F) or higher for at least the last 72 hours
Confirmation that the system was installed while the ambient temperature was 15° C (59° F) or higher for at least the last 72 hours
Confirmation that the power to the flywheel (armature and field coils) has been turned off for the last 72 hours
Once a connection is established, click "Enter Password" on the menu bar. The "Enter User Name/Password" dialog will appear. Refer to Illustration 8.
