Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Lower the temperature of bearing cup (23). Install bearing race (23).

Raise the temperature of bearing cone (22). Install bearing cone (22). Repeat this step for the remaining bearing cone.

Install ring seal (21).

Install pump drive gear (20).

Install the O-ring seal onto speed sensor (19). Install speed sensor (19).
Install bolt (18). Tighten bolt (18) to a torque of 14 3 N m (124 26.5 lb in)

Lower the temperature of bearing cup (17). Install bearing cup (17). Install the cover plate.

Install O-ring seal (16). Install bearing race (15).

Install pump adapter (14).
Install bolts (13). Tighten bolts (13) to a torque of 55 10 N m (41 7.4 lb ft).
Install Tooling (A). Use suitable lifting device to reposition torque converter housing (3) 180 degrees. The weight of the torque converter housing (3) is approximately 104 kg (230 lb).

Use Tooling (B) to measure the end play of pump drive gear (20). The end play measurement must be 0.10 to 0.20 mm (0.004 to 0.008 inch). Add or remove shims in order to obtain the correct end play.
Repeat steps for the remaining pump drive gear.

Install bearing assembly (12).
Install idler gear assembly (11).

Lower the temperature of idler shaft (10). Install idler shaft (10).
Install bolt (9).
