Installation Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, on all wires, and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, all hoses, and tubes. This helps to prevent fluid loss and helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.

Place the swing cylinder (9) in position on the machine.
Connect the hose (8) and the clamp (7) .
Connect the two hoses (6) .

Place the trunnion (5) in position on the machine.
Install six nuts and bolts (4) . Tighten the bolts to a torque of 400 60 N m (300 40 lb ft). Turn the bolts by an additional 120° 5°.Note: Before torquing trunnion bolts (4) be sure rod end of cylinder (9) can be installed to swing frame.

Install the pin (1) , the rod (3) and the two nuts (2) . Tighten the nuts to a torque of 50 10 N m (37 7 lb ft).
Perform the following steps in order to install the other swing cylinder:

Place the swing cylinder (9) in position on the machine.
Connect the hose (8) and the clamp (7) .
Connect the two hoses (6) .
Repeat Steps 4, 5, and 6.
