Use tooling (A) in order to install seal (22). Apply some 9S-3263 Thread Lock Compound to the outer diameter of the seal.Note: Lubricate the inner diameter of the seal prior to installation.

Use tooling (B) in order to install the upper and the lower bearing races into the axle housing.

Install sun gear (21). Use snap ring (20) in order to secure the sun gear.

Use a suitable lifting device in order to install axle shaft (18) into the axle housing.

Use tooling (A) in order to install bushing (15) and seal (14) into the housing for the steering knuckle.Note: Lubricate the inner diameter of seal (14) prior to installation. Apply some 9S-3263 Thread Lock Compound to the outer diameter of the seal prior to installation.

Assemble the upper and the lower pins in the following manner.
Install O-ring (13) into the groove.
Install the seal cap and bearing (11) onto pin (12) .
Use a press in order to install the bearing onto the pin until contact is made.

Use a suitable lifting device in order to install the housing for the steering knuckle.Note: Fit the sun gear through the housing for the steering knuckle carefully. Do not dislodge the bushings or the seals during assembly.

Use the original shims with each of the pins. Install the pin for the top of the housing. Test the rolling torque of the housing for the steering knuckle. The rolling torque should be 26 3 N m (19 2 lb ft).Note: The proper rolling torque will be achieved if the bearings are new. Also, the bearings and the shims must be installed correctly. Note: Check the final position of the pin prior to the final torquing of the bolts. The lubrication fitting should face the center of the axle.
Install the pin for the bottom side of the housing for the steering knuckle.
Tighten the four bolts on the top of the housing for the steering knuckle to a torque of 160 30 N m (118 22 lb ft). Tighten the four bolts on the bottom of the housing for the steering knuckle to a torque of 240 40 N m (177 30 lb ft).Note: Recheck the rolling torque of the housing for the steering knuckle. Lubricate all of the bearings.
Install the ball joint end of the tie rod. See Disassembly and Assembly, "Tie Rods (Steering) (Rear) - Remove and Install".

Install nut (4) and bolt (5). Install the bolt to the proper distance (X). The distance was determined during the disassembly procedure.

Install thrust washers (2) and (3). Install snap ring (1) in order to secure the axle shaft.End By:
Install the final drive. See Disassembly and Assembly, "Final Drive (Drive and Steering Axle) (Rear) - Install".
Install the rear axle. See Disassembly and Assembly, "Drive and Steering Axle (Rear) - Install".
Install the tires and wheels. See Disassembly and Assembly, "Tires & Wheels (Rear) - Remove and Install".
