Remove the tires and wheels. See Disassembly and Assembly, "Tires & Wheels (Rear) - Remove and Install".
Remove the rear axle. See Disassembly and Assembly, "Drive and Steering Axle (Rear) - Remove".
Remove the final drives. See Disassembly and Assembly, "Final Drive (Drive and Steering Axle) (Rear) - Remove".
Remove the axle housings. See Disassembly and Assembly, "Drive and Steering Axle Housing (Rear) - Remove".
Remove the service brakes. See Disassembly and Assembly, "Service Brake - Remove".

Remove differential carrier (1) from the differential housing.

Use tooling (A) in order to remove nut (2) and the washer from pinion shaft (3) .

Use a soft hammer in order to remove pinion gear (4) from the differential housing.Note: Start the nut onto the top of the pinion shaft. The nut will prevent any damage to the threads. Remove the nut after the pinion gear is free.
