Information:


Heat bearing (27) to a temperature of approximately 135 °C (275 °F). Install bearing (27) onto the pinion. Install retaining ring (26) and crimp retaining ring (26) .

Heat bearing (25) to a temperature of approximately 135 °C (275 °F). Install bearing (25) and the spacer onto the pinion.
Lower the temperature of bearing races (24) and install the races into housing assembly (22) .
Install seal (23) . Place the housing assembly into position on the pinion assembly.

Install bearing (21) into the housing assembly (22) .

Install seal (28) into the retainer.Note: The lip of the seal should be toward the bearings on the pinion.

Note: Check the bearing preload in a clockwise direction.
Use a 200 mm (7.9 inch) long torque wrench and a 1 3/4 inch socket in order to check the bearing preload. The preload should be between 1.1 N m (9.7 lb in) and 4.5 N m (40 lb in). Install the pinion shaft and the nut.

Use replacement nuts and replacement bolts in order to install ring gear (19) onto the differential carrier half. Tighten the nuts to a torque of approximately 115 N m (85 lb ft) .
Install bushing (18) , thrust washer (17) , and gear (16) into the differential carrier half.Note: The groove in the thrust washer should be on the top side.

Install gears (14) and washers (15) onto the spider assembly.

Install spider assembly (13) into the differential carrier half. Install gear assembly (11) onto the differential carrier half. Install washer (12) onto the gear assembly. The groove in washer (12) should be on the top side.

Install bushing (10) onto the differential carrier half.

Use bolts (9) in order to fasten the two halves of the differential carrier together. Ensure that the alignment marks match. Tighten bolts (9) to a torque of 88 N m (65 lb ft) to 102 N m (75 lb ft).

Heat small bearing (8) to a temperature of approximately 135 °C (275 °F). Install bearing (8) onto the differential carrier.

Place spring (4) into position on adapter (3) . Install coupling (5) onto spring (4) . Install washer (6) onto coupling (5) .
Heat the large bearing to a temperature of approximately 135 °C (275 °F). Install the bearing onto the differential carrier.

Install differential lock (2) and retainer ring (1) . It may be necessary to use a clamp in order to compress the spring.End By:
