former 2N2384 (12 Volt) and 2N2385 (24 Volt) Rack Shutoff Solenoids were canceled and replaced by 8C3666 and 8C3667 Rack Shutoff Solenoids respectively. The former solenoid bodies were 112.8 mm (4.44 in) long and the replacement solenoid bodies are 137.0 mm (5.39 in) long. The replacement solenoids are 24.2 mm (.95 in) longer and in some applications that is too long. If the former 2N2384 and 2N2385 Rack Shutoff Solenoids have more than 31.8 mm (1.25 in) length clearance with adjacent engine parts, use 8C3666 and 8C3667 Rack Shutoff Solenoids as replacements.
New 1023505 (12 Volt) and 1023506 (24 Volt) Rack Shutoff Solenoids are available. The bodies of these solenoids are 111.0 mm (4.37 in) long. If the former 2N2384 or 2N2385 Rack Shutoff Solenoids have less than 31.8 (1.25 in ) length clearance with adjacent engine parts, use 1023505 or 1023506 Rack Shutoff Solenoids as replacements.
