1. Remove two bolts (1) that hold the rod in yoke (2).2. Pull the rod out and onto the roller frame. Be careful not to damage the ring seal on the rod. Fasten a hoist and remove the rod. Weight of rod is 26 kg (80 lb).3. Remove the seal from the rod. 4. Remove the bolts that hold the cylinder (3) and plate (4) to the pilot. 5. Remove seal and ring (7).6. Remove piston (8).7. Remove snap ring (9) and seal (6).8. Remove two rings (5).9. Remove the filler valve and the relief valve from the cylinder. 10. Remove end (12), spring (11) and the ball from the filler valve (10).Assemble Hydraulic Track Adjusters (231D)
The small end of the spring must be toward the ball when installed.1. Install the ball, spring and the end on the fill valve.2. Install the fill valve and relief valve in the cylinder. 3. Install two rings (5). The ring openings must be 180° apart.4. Install seal (6) and snap ring (9). The lip of the seal must be toward the snap ring. 5. Install piston (8). The taper on the ring must be toward the inside of groove when installed.6. Install the ring and seal (7). 7. Install two 3/4" - 10 NC guide bolts in the pilot. Install plate (4) with finished surface toward the cylinder.8. Install cylinder (3) and the two bolts. Remove the guide bolts and install all of the other bolts. 9. Install ring (14). Fasten a hoist and install rod (13) with the two bolts.End By:a. install recoil springs and hydraulic track adjusters as a unit.
