Information:
Verify Rotary Position Sensor Installation
The rotary position sensors are designed to provide a pulse-width modulated signal.

Sensor Information
Rotary sensors can physically be rotated 360 degrees. PWM output will only produce a continuous duty cycle range for 180 degrees. Duty cycle signal range is 5% to 95%. The output of the sensor stops at 5% or 95% when rotated past 90 degrees from center in either direction.Rotary Position Sensor Verification

Select "Main Menu", "Service", "Cat Grade Control System""CGC Status", and "CGC System Sensors".
Monitor "Stick Angle Duty Cycle" value and "Boom Angle Duty Cycle" value.
Move boom and stick through full range of motion, one at a time.
Confirm duty cycle constantly changes while the boom or stick are moving Note: Stick sensor duty cycle will decrease as the stick is curled in and increase as stick is extended out.Note: Boom sensor duty cycle will decrease as the boom is raised and increase as the boom is lowered. If the signal appears to be stuck at 5% or 95%, while the boom or stick is still moving, then turn the shaft of the sensor 180 degrees."Boom" and "Stick" each utilize the same rotary sensor. The shaft of the sensor mount to a collar with a capscrew through the cross.Note: Collar is mounted to the linkage arm with two bolts, which can be inverted 180 degrees.Proper installation can be verified visually before linkage is connected. Ensure that the flat spot on the rotor shaft is facing away from the harness location. Proper installation can also be verified by facing the three bolt pattern in the housing.

(2) Flat side of shaft Observe orientation of the flat edge of the shaft for the sensor, relative to the sensor housing. Flat edge of the shaft should face away from the wiring. Refer to illustration 4"Boom" and "Stick" each utilize the same rotary sensor. The shaft of the sensor mount to a collar with a capscrew through the cross.Note: Collar is mounted to the linkage arm with two bolts, which can be inverted 180 degrees for two possible positions.Proper installation can be verified visually before linkage is connected. Ensure that the flat spot on the rotor shaft is facing away from the harness location.
