Introduction
The following procedure covers the steps required to set the Values of the Impeller Clutch Select Switch.The software program that will be used for this test procedure is the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (Cat ET). The Cat ET is a software program that can be used on an IBM-compatible personal computer.Reference: For more information about the use of Cat ET, refer to Troubleshooting, "Using Caterpillar Electronic Technician to Determine Diagnostic Codes" for the machine that is being serviced.Required Tools

Park the machine on a smooth, level surface.
Shift the transmission direction control switch to the NEUTRAL position.
Lower the bucket or the work tool to the ground.
Engage the parking brake.
Place blocks in front of the wheels and behind the wheels.

Steering Frame Lock
(1) Steering frame lock in LOCKED position
Install the steering frame lock.
Allow only authorized personnel on the machine. Keep unauthorized personnel off the machine and in clear sight of the operator.
Shut off the engine.Note: This calibration procedure is performed with the engine OFF.
Turn the key start switch and the disconnect switch to the ON position.Adjust Procedure

Connect the laptop computer to the service connector (6) in the cab. The service connector is located on the back wall of the cab to the right of the operator station.Note: The settings 1 through 3 may be set to any value between 35% and 95%. Setting 1 must be lower than setting 2. Setting 2 must be lower than setting 3. Impeller Clutch setting 4 is fixed at 100%. Setting four will have no LED lights illuminated.
Open the software program Cat ET. Select the "Transmission 993K" from the "ECM Selector" menu.
Select the "Service" menu item from the toolbar. Select the "Configuration" menu item.
The Impeller Clutch settings are near the bottom of the screen. Highlight the setting to change. Click on the "Change" button in the bottom left of the screen. Click the "Yes" button.
Enter the new value for the Impeller Clutch setting. Click the "OK" button.
The value of the Impeller Clutch setting for the "Position 1" switch has been changed.
Repeat Steps 2 through 6 for each of the Impeller Clutch switches that
