Information:


Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.Note: Ensure that the purge process for the DEF system has completed before turning the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Battery Disconnect Switch" for further information.
Drain the coolant to a level below the solenoid valve. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.
Open the left rear door assembly.

Ensure that the areas around all hoses are clean and free of dirt and debris. If necessary, clean the area around the manifold (DEF heater). Clean the area with Tooling (B) .
Remove hose assemblies (1). Cut cable straps (2) and disconnect harness assembly (3).

Disconnect harness assembly (4).

Remove clamp (5) and hose (6).

Remove strap (7) and clamp (9). Separate hose (8) from strap (7). Cut cable strap (10).

Remove bolts (11) and position the hose assemblies out of the way. Note the orientation of clips (12) for assembly purposes.

Cut cable strap (13) and disconnect harness assembly (14).
Close the left rear door assembly.

Remove inserts (15). Attach Tooling (C) and a suitable lifting device to cover assembly (16). The weight of cover assembly (16) is approximately 86 kg (190 lb).

Use Tooling (C) and a suitable lifting device to remove cover assembly (16).

Position cover assembly (16) onto suitable cribbing. Remove bolts (20).

Loosen nuts (23). Remove bolts (24), straps (22), and diesel exhaust fluid tank (21).Installation Procedure
Install diesel exhaust fluid tank (21) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten bolts (24) to a torque of 4 1 N m (35 9 lb in).
If necessary, use the following steps to install the straps for the diesel exhaust fluid tank.
Insert the strap ends through the holes and into the slots for the mounting bracket.
Ensure that the straps are fully seated in the grooves on the tank.
Use a backup wrench on the upper trunnion to prevent the strap from twisting.
Tighten the bottom bolts to the torque listed above.
Use an M8 flange nut as a locking nut by applying standard torque.
