Personal injury can result from hot oil or hot components.At operating temperature, oil is hot and under pressure. Hot oil can cause burns.Remove the fill cap only when the engine is stopped, and the fill cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Note: Put identification marks on all hose assemblies, on all tube assemblies and on all wire harnesses for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies and all tube assemblies. This helps to prevent fluid loss and this helps to prevent contaminants from entering the system.
Drain the engine coolant into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change".
Drain the hydraulic oil from the transmission tank into a suitable container. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Transmission Tank Oil - Change".

Disconnect tube assembly (1).

Disconnect hose assembly (2) and hose (3).

Disconnect hose assembly (4) and hose assembly (5). Remove adapter (6), tube assembly (7), and inlet valve (8) as a unit.

Attach a suitable lifting device onto oil cooler (9). The weight of oil cooler (9) is approximately 45 kg (100 lb).

Remove plate (10).

Remove bolts (11) and bolts (12). Remove oil cooler (9).

Sudden release of spring force can cause injury.To prevent the possibility of injury, follow the procedure to relieve the spring pressure.
Remove tube assembly (7) and retainer (14). Remove O-ring seal (15).

Remove load piston (17), spring (18), spring (19), spacers (20), and spring pin (21) from cooler inlet valve (8).
