( 1 ) Dimension (A) is the amount of overlap of the seal. Use dimension (A) in two places.
Remove the debris guard from the alternator.

Remove the existing seal for the debris guard (1).
Cut a piece of the 8T-6936 Seal to the length of 450 mm (17.7 inch).
Install the new 8T-6936 Seal (2) in place. Refer to dimension (A). See Illustration 2 and Illustration 3.
Cut the seal at four locations (D). Make sure that you do not cut past the profile of the debris guard.

Install the debris guard (1) on the alternator. Refer to Illustration 4. Note: Make sure that cuts (D) allow the proper clearance around the bolts for the alternator. See Illustration 4 for reference.
