Rework Procedure
CORRECTIVE ACTION:
The following Caterpillar Publications may be helpful, and can be located in the Caterpillar, Service Information System (SIS-Web)
KENR8556 "Lift Cylinder ? Remove and Install"
SEBF8072 "Inspection and Salvage of Hydraulic Cylinder Components"
1. Following the published "Removal and Installation" guidelines in KENR8556, remove the failed Lift Cylinder from the machine.
2. Disassemble the Cylinder in accordance with the "Disassembly" guidelines published in KENR8556.
3. Following the "Inspection and Salvage" guidelines in SEBF8072, determine the correct disposition of the disassembled components and order new components if required.
4. Exchange the existing 1869711/">186-9711 Lift Cylinder Assembly with the new replacement.
5. Make certain that all components are clean and free of contamination. Assemble the Lift Cylinder in accordance with the "Assembly" guidelines published in KENR8556.
6. Reinstall Lift Cylinder on the machine and follow the normal commissioning processes required at the Customer site.
