3 Put the seal group (wear sleeve and seal) on locator (2). Put 8T2683 Installer (7) and 9S8858 Nut (8) on locator (2). Put lubricant on face (C) of the washer on nut (8), then tighten nut (8) until installer (7) comes in contact with locator (2).D Installation Of Seal Group For BrakeSaver
1 Use four S1594 Bolts to fasten 8T2856 Bar (13) to the rotor and housing as shown. 2 Use two 1T720 Bolts (12) to fasten 5P3594 Locator (3) to the rear of the rotor assembly. Use 6V1541 Quick Cure Primer to clean outside diameter (A) of the rotor flange, and inside diameter (B) of the wear sleeve. Put 9S3265 Retaining Compound on outside diameter (A) of the rotor flange and inside diameter (B) of the wear sleeve. 3 Put the seal group (wear sleeve and seal) for the rear of the BrakeSaver on locator (3). Put 8T2855 Installer (6) and 9S8858 Nut (8) on locator (3). Put lubricant on face (C) of the washer on nut (8), then tighten nut (8) until installer (6) is against locator (3). 4 Use one S1594 Bolt to fasten 8T2856 Bar (13) to the rotor as shown.5 Use two 1T720 Bolts (12) to fasten the 5P3594 Locator (3) to the front of the rotor assembly. Use 6V1541 Quick Cure Primer to clean the outside diameter of the rotor flange, and the inside diameter of the wear sleeve. Put 9S3265 Retaining Compound on the outside diameter of the rotor flange and the inside diameter of the wear sleeve. 6 Put the seal group (wear sleeve and seal) for the front of the BrakeSaver on locator (3). Put 8T2855 Installer (6) and 9S8858 Nut (8) on locator (3). Put lubricant on face (C) of the washer on nut (8), then tighten nut (8) until installer (6) is against locator (3). It may be necessary to use a wrench (14) to hold bar (13) as shown. This will prevent the rotor from turning while installing the rear seal group by tightening nut (8).3500 Series Engines
Tools needed are as follows: 6V4003 Locator (1), 6V4004 Installer (2), 8T3099 Installer, 9S8858 Nut, 2N5006 Bolts (5), 5/16"-18 NC X 101 (4.00") long pins (6), 6V4002 Bracket (7), 6V4001 Ring (8). Also needed are four 1D4716 Nuts 5/16"-18 thread (not shown).A Installation Of Front Or Rear Seal Group And/Or Adapter Group - All Engines With 1W6974 Or 1W6977 Seal Group And 1W6975 Or 1W6978 Adapter Group
Refer to the charts that follow for the installation location of each adapter group and/or seal group. AInstallation Location on Engine. 1 Put 6V4002 Brackets (7) on a smooth flat surface with the studs up as shown. Install a 1W6975 or 1W6978 Adapter Group (C) on brackets (7), so each of the four studs is through a mounting bolt hole in the adapter group. (The seal bore must face up.)2 Put the specific seal group on adapter (C). The chamfer on the inside diameter of the wear sleeve must be up (toward the
