Park the truck on a hard smooth surface. Use the proper procedure for parking.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to OFF.

Disconnect linkage rod (A) from lever (B). Retain the hardware.
Disconnect buffer (C) from sensor (D) and from the chassis harness. Remove buffer (C) and the associated hardware. Discard buffer (C) and the associated hardware.
Remove sensor (D) and the connected lever (B). Retain the hardware.

Use 105-3487 Bolt (1) to install 198-4271 Lever (2) on 198-8372 Position Sensor (3) .Note: The part number is embossed on the one side of the lever. Install lever (2) so that the part number is facing away from sensor (3) .
Use the hardware that was retained from Step 5 to install position sensor (3) .
Use the hardware that was retained from Step 3 to connect lever (2) to linkage rod (A) .
Connect position sensor (3) to the chassis harness.Note: If the linkage rod binds during operation, the boss that is on the dump body may need to be replaced with a longer boss. See Table 2 for a list of bosses.
