Information:
8. Check the electrolyte level in the batteries, if so equipped; fill if necessary. Connect the positive, then the negative battery cables, both sides. 9. Remove steering frame lock link and put it in its storage position. Put the machine in operation. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual.Lift Arm Installation
1. Remove the steel bands and wood blocking from the lift cylinders. 2. Use a hoist and lift the cylinders to the maximum up over center position. Fasten the cylinders to the ROPS front eye bolts. 3. Be sure all of the bores, collets and pins are clean. Put 5P0960 Lubricant on all bearing surfaces. Use a hoist and fasten cables to the balance point on the lift arms. Be sure the four dust seals are in lift arm bores (A). Raise the lift arms until bores (A) are even with bores (B), both sides. 4. Install pin (1) on each side. 5. Install a collet (2) on each end of pin (1), two required for each side. Install cylinder (3) as shown. 6. Install cylinder (3) to collet (2) with 5P8714 Stud (4), bushing (5), coupler (6), 9S5558 Stud (7), washer (8) and two nut assemblies (9) as shown. Press (force) collets (2) to pin (1) with 535 kN (60 tons) of force. Use a hoist to hold cylinder (3) while collets are being pressed. Remove the tools and install rod assembly (10), two washers and nut (11) to a torque of 1836 204 N m (1350 150 lb ft). Use the same procedure for the other side. 7. Use a small hoist to lift the front of lift cylinder (D). Be sure the four dust seals are in the bores of rods (E). Start the engine and extend rod (E) until the bore is even with the bores in the lift arms. 8. Install pin (12) with the pin handler, from the outside, to collet (13) (shown below) already pressed to the inside of the bore, both sides.
Do not use lift control to retract rod (E).
9. Install cylinder (14), plate (15) and collet (16) with 9S5558 Stud (17), bushing (18) and nut assembly (19) as shown. Press collet (16) to pin (12) with 535 kN (60 tons) of force. Use a hoist to hold cylinder (14) while collets are being pressed. Remove the tools. Install bolt (20) and a washer (not shown) to the outside collet. Tighten bolt (20) to a torque of 1836 204 N m (1350 150 lb ft). Use the same procedure on the other side. 10. Start the engine and lower the lift arms to their lowest position. Remove the chains and use a hoist to lower the tilt cylinders, one at a time. Extend the tilt cylinder rods (F) until the bores are even with the bores in levers (G). Be sure the four dust seals are in the bores of rods (F). Install collet (23) with two extra holes (H) on the right side
