The automatic lubrication system is used to lubricate the following components on the 988G Wheel Loader and the 988H Wheel Loader:
Bearings for the tilt cylinders

Rear axle trunnion bearings
Bearings for the upper articulation joint

The automatic lubrication system is used to lubricate the following components on the 990H Wheel Loader and the 992G Wheel Loader:

Overview of the automatic lubrication system
(1) Lubrication tank
(2) Hydraulic motor

(9) Lubrication pumpThe automatic lubrication system consists of the following three systems:

Lubrication systemThe control system turns the automatic lubrication system on and off at periodic intervals.The hydraulic system provides the power for the hydraulic pump motor to pressurize the lubrication system.The lubrication system controls the flow of the lubricant to the bearings.Lubrication distribution valves (6) are mounted throughout each wheel loader. The grease is pumped from lubrication tank (1). Then, the grease is delivered through supply line (4) to the lubrication distribution valves. Lube injectors are mounted to the lubrication distribution valves. The lube injectors are actuated by the pressurized grease that is supplied by lubrication pump (9). The injector completes an injection stroke when the supply line reaches a specified pressure. The injectors move through a reset stroke after the pressure in the supply line is relieved. The injectors deliver grease to the points of lubrication via lubrication lines (feed) (5).
