A Caterpillar dealer has fabricated a special fixture for inspection of fuel injection nozzles. The fixture has a support arm which can be adjusted to hold the 6V2196 Inspection Microscope and the 6V6059 Microlite in the desired position. After the instruments are adjusted to the correct position for a clear view, rotation of the nozzle in the fixture permits inspection of each orifice without changes to the adjustment. The result is faster, easier nozzle inspection, with maximum accuracy. The holes and groove in the block make the fixture adaptable to any type of nozzle.
The chart shows a list of the parts used to fabricate the fixture. Illustration 1 shows dimensions and specifications for the base, and Illustration 2 shows the assembled fixture.
