Illustration 1 g02803197The piston cooling jets (5) must be checked for the location of the stream of oil. Insert a straight drill rod with a diameter that fits snugly in each piston jet orifice. The inside diameter of piston jet orifice (3) is 2.4 mm (0.09449 inch). The inside diameter of piston jet orifice (4) is 1.5 mm (0.05906 inch). This drill rod simulates the stream of oil under normal operating pressure. Place the drill rod in orifice (4). The drill rod must pass through a circle with a diameter of 15 mm (0.59055 inch) at location (2D). Place the drill rod in orifice (3). The drill rod must pass through a circle with a diameter of 9 mm (0.35433 inch) at location (1D).Note: Do not damage the inside surface of the piston jet orifices with the drill rod. Damage to the inside surface can cause the stream of oil to be altered.Use the following dimensions in order to locate point (1) and point (2).
