C     140-7742     Protective Sleeve     2    Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the installation procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

Use Tooling (A) , Tooling (C) , and a suitable lifting device in order to install rear axle (6) . The weight of rear axle (6) is approximately 1180 kg (2602 lb).

Use two people in order to position stabilizer bracket (10) . The weight of stabilizer bracket (10) is approximately 25 kg (55 lb).
Install bolts (9) and install bolts (8) . Tighten bolts (9) to a torque of 900 100 N m (664 74 lb ft) and tighten bolts (8) to a torque of 270 40 N m (199 30 lb ft).
Connect hose assembly (7) .

Install bolts (5) and install bolts (4) . Tighten bolts (5) to a torque of 900 100 N m (664 74 lb ft) and tighten bolts (4) to a torque of 270 40 N m (199 30 lb ft).

Connect hose assembly (3) and connect hose assembly (2) .
Install bolt (1) .
Fill the axle housing with fluid to the proper level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Differential and Final Drive Oil - Change".End By:
Install the rear drive shaft. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Rear Drive Shaft - Remove and Install".
Install the rear tires and rims. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Tire and Rim - Remove and install".
Install the stabilizer rod for the rear axle. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Rear Axle Stabilizer Rod - Remove and Install".
Purge the air out of the braking system. Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Service Brake Air - Purge".
