TORQUE CONVERTER GP 1T2019 - Caterpillar

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.

Remove five hose assemblies (1). Reposition hose assembly (3). Remove fitting assembly (2).

Remove check valve (4). Note: Removal check valve (4) so the hydraulic cylinder can be extended manually. The cylinder rod will need to be manually extended for the hydraulic cylinder to be removed.
Use a suitable pry bar to extend the cylinder. Extend the cylinder until pin (7) is visible. Remove retaining ring (6) and pin (7). Repeat for the opposite side. Remove wedge (5).
Remove plugs (9) and springs (not shown). Remove bolts (8) and spring journals (10). Note: Plugs are under significant load from the compressed springs. Do not remove unless hydraulic cylinder is fully extended.

Use a suitable lifting device to remove hydraulic cylinder (11). Refer to Table 1 for the approximate weight.

Remove retaining rings (12) and pins (13).
Remove rocker arms (16), latch (14), and pin (15). Installation Procedure
Install hydraulic cylinder (11) in the reverse order of removal.
Refer to Table 2 for the correct torque for bolts (8).
