TORQUE CONVERTER & HOUSING GP 2669231 - Caterpillar

Start By:
Remove the blade cylinder. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Blade Cylinder - Remove".
Release the hydraulic system pressure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "System Pressure - Release".

Reinstall pin (1) and hand tighten the bolt.

Attach a suitable lifting device and Tooling (A) in order to support blade (2). The weight of blade (2) is approximately 263 kg (580 lb).
Remove retaining bolt (3) and nuts (5). Remove pin (4). Repeat for the other side.
Use Tooling (A) and the suitable lifting device in order to remove blade (2).

Remove seals (6). Use Tooling (B) in order to remove bearings (7). Installation Procedure

Lower the temperature of bearings (7). Use Tooling (C) in order to install bearings (7) and seals (6).

Attach a suitable lifting device and Tooling (A) in order to position blade (2) onto the chassis. The weight of blade (2) is approximately 263 kg (580 lb).
Apply Tooling (D) to pin (4). Install pin (4). Install retaining bolt (3) and nuts (5). Repeat for the other side.

Use the following procedure in order to tighten all the nuts:
Position the outside nut even with the end of the retaining bolt or 0.5 mm (0.02 inch) beyond the end of the retaining bolt.
Tighten the inside nut against the outside nut to a torque of 70 15 N m (50 10 lb ft).
Remove Tooling (A) and the suitable lifting device.

Remove the bolt and pin (1) in order to install the blade cylinder. End By:
