Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the left engine guard. See Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Side Guards - Remove and Install".
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Shut off the fuel supply at the fuel tank.
Loosen clamp (3). Remove inlet hose from priming pump (1) .
Remove tube assembly (2) from priming pump (1) .
Cut the wire strap. Remove wire harness (4) .
Remove mounting bolts (5). Remove priming pump (1) from the engine.Installation Procedure

Put priming pump (1) into position. Install mounting bolts (5) that hold priming pump (1) in place.
Install wire harness (4) and a new wire strap.
Install tube assembly (2) to priming pump (1) .
Install the inlet hose on priming pump (1). Tighten the clamp.
Turn on the fuel supply at the tank.End By: Install the left engine guard. See Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Side Guards - Remove and Install".
