The Operation and Maintenance Manual needs to be replaced on the products listed below. The existing Operation and Maintenance Manual has an incomplete description of the Machine Lock-out. The current instructions for the feature do not clearly explain how the indicator lamps relay if the system has successfully disabled the machine systems when the machine lock-out control is activated. A misunderstanding of the actual state of the system could lead to situations in which a risk of personal injury or death exists.
Contact your local Caterpillar dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.
Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated 30Jun2008 when scheduling this service.
