3616 (1PD44-Up) EnginesThe cylinder head tensioner group pressure has been increased effective with the above engines because of higher power ratings. The increased tensioner pressure is required to provide adequate clamping for the cylinder head seals.
To remove or install the cylinder head nuts on the above engines, use the 8T0930 Stud Tensioner Group to apply 40 000 1500 kPa (5800 217 psi) to all four cylinder head studs at the same time. On earlier engines 35 000 1500 kPa (5000 217 psi) is required to remove or install the cylinder head nuts. Make note of the this information in the following service manual modules.
