TORQUE CONVERTER GROUP 8E4063 - Caterpillar

start by: a) remove alternator (tractor engine)b) remove vibration damper and pulleyc) remove power packd) remove belt tightener (scraper engine)e) remove water pump (scraper engine) The engine front support for the tractor engine and scraper engine are removed basically the same way. 1. Put tooling (A) in position under the engine as shown. 2. Remove clip (1) and move it away from the front support.3. Remove clip (4) and move the oil line away from the front support.4. Disconnect ground wire (3) from the front support.5. Remove tube (5) from the water pump.6. Remove four bolts (2). Loosen engine rear mounting bolts on scraper engine only.7. Lift the front of the engine approximately 1.5 in. (38.1 mm) with tooling (A).
Do not lift the engine more than 1.5 in. (38.1 mm) Damage to the drive group will result.
8. Remove four bolts (6). Remove front support (7).Install Engine Front Support
1. Put front support (1) in position on the trunnion. Install the four bolts that hold it. Lower the engine with tooling (A) until the front support makes contact with the frame. Tighten the engine rear mounting bolts on the scraper engine only.2. Install the four bolts that hold the front support to the frame.3. Install the outlet tube on the water pump.4. Connect the ground wire to the front support.5. Put the oil line from the filter in position on the front support. Install the clip that holds it.6. Put hydraulic line for bail in position and install the clip that holds it.end by: a) install water pump (scraper engine)b) install belt tightener (scraper engine)c) install power packd) install vibration damper and pulleye) install alternator (tractor engine)
