start by:a) remove radiator and guard 1. Loosen the bolts that hold the alternator in position to remove the tension on the vee belts. Remove vee belts (1) from the engine.2. Loosen bolt (2) in the end of the crankshaft until there is approximately 3/8 in. (9.5 mm) clearance between the washer and crankshaft pulley. 3. Install tooling (A) and loosen the pulley from the crankshaft. Remove tooling (A).4. Remove the bolt, washer and pulley (3) from the crankshaft.Install Crankshaft Pulley
1. Put pulley (1) in position on the crankshaft.2. Install the washer and bolt that hold the pulley in place.
TYPICAL EXAMPLE3. Install two 1/2"-13 NC bolts (2) 1 1/2 in. long in the pulley as shown. Put a pry bar between the bolts so the crankshaft will not turn while the bolt is tightened to the correct torque.4. Tighten the bolt to a torque of 230 20 lb.ft. (307 25 N m).5. Hit the bolt with a hammer. Tighten the bolt again to a torque of 230 20 lb.ft. (307 25 N m).6. Put the vee belts in position on the pulleys.7. Make an adjustment of the vee belts.
