1/2 −13 by 4 inch     2    Remove the crankshaft vibration damper and pulley. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, " Crankshaft Vibration Damper and Pulley - Remove and Install".Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Drain the coolant from the cooling system into a suitable container for storage or for disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Capacities (Refill)" for the capacity of the cooling system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (DEAC) - Change" or Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Extended Life Coolant - Change" for the proper draining procedure.

Remove bolts (1). Remove sheet assembly (3) .
Remove bolts (2) and (5). Remove support assembly (4) .

Remove hose (7) .
Remove bolts (6). Remove sheet assembly (8) .

Attach a suitable lifting device in order to support engine (10) .

Remove bolts (11) and (15). Position tube (14) aside. Remove bolt (12). Remove washer (13) .

Remove bolts (18) .
Install Tooling (A). Remove remaining bolts (18) .

Slide engine front support (19) away from engine (10). Attach a suitable lifting device to engine front support (10). Remove engine front support (10). The weight of engine front support (10) is approximately 50 kg (110 lb).
