Information:

Operate the engine at full rpm for maximum braking, steering and propel control response. Operation below full throttle will adversely affect response. When climbing a steep grade, the propel control lever must be moved SLOWLY in order to avoid engine stall and possible loss of machine control.
Release the parking brake before operating the machine. Failure to release the parking brake before operating the machine will damage the parking brake and could result in a runaway machine.
Attain the desired travel speed before you engage the vibratory system. In order to achieve optimum compaction, low range should be used. Place the vibration system in the OFF position.Stop the vibration system when you travel over concrete or over pavement that is hard.
The bearings in the vibratory reservoir for the weight shaft are lubricated by rotating the drum assembly. Turning the vibratory system on with the machine not propelling may shorten the vibratory bearing life.
Begin the first pass of the compaction along the side of the work. Gradually make subsequent passes toward the center. Overlap the previous pass by 15 cm (6 inch) in order to eliminate uncompacted areas.

In order to select the direction of travel, move propel control lever (1) in the desired direction. The machine will travel faster as the lever is moved farther.Select the correct speed for compaction. The compaction speed should be between 3 km/h (2 mph) and 9 km/h (5.6 mph). The compaction speed while vibrating should be chosen to deliver 8 to 14 impacts per foot. 26 to 46 impacts per meter.Compacting close to obstructions may require slower speeds. Vibrating at speeds less than 1.5 km/h (1 mph) may cause mat defects in some material.Attain the desired travel speed before you start the vibration system. Place the vibration system in the OFF position before you stop the machine.Compaction should be done without interruption. Travel speed should remain constant throughout the length of the pass.Drive in a straight line.Do not brake in a severe manner. Allow the machine to come to a gradual stop. When you turn the compactor on a compacted surface, always make gradual turns in order to avoid scuffing of the compacted surface.Make sure that the drum scrapers are correctly adjusted and contact the drum evenly.Use the water system to wet the drum in order to avoid picking up pieces of the asphalt material.Check that the water tank is full and that the water system works correctly.
