Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.Make sure all of the attachments have been lowered, and the oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.

Move the machine to a smooth level area that will support the weight of the machine.
Move the steering frame lock into the LOCKED position.
Place transmission in NEUTRAL position.
Engage the parking brake.
Lower work tool to the ground
Stop engine.
Relieve pressure on the hydraulic system. For more information about relieving the hydraulic pressure refer to Testing and Adjusting, "System Pressure-Release" for the machine being serviced.

Pilot pressure tap is on the pilot valve on the right-hand side of the machine under the cab.
Install Tooling (A) onto the pilot valve test tap using a gauge rated at 5000 kPa (725 psi).
Start the engine and warm hydraulic fluid up to normal operating temperature of approximately 50° C (122 ° F) to 65° C (149 ° F)Note: The hydrostatic pump charge circuit provides pressure to the pilot manifold. The pilot manifold contains a pressure reducer that limits the pilot supply to the pilot, diff. lock, and clutch services.
Run the machine at low idle.
Record the pressure registered.
Compare recorded pressure against specification in Table1.
If the charge pressure is within specification, stop the engine.
Remove test equipment.
If the charge pressure is not within specification, refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Hydrostatic System-Test and
Caterpillar SIS machinery equipment:
