Connect the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, on all wires and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, all hoses and all tubes. This will help to prevent fluid loss and this will help to keep contaminants from entering the system.Note: The transmission oil cooler is located below the lower radiator tank.

Loosen two hose clamps (1) .
Remove hose assembly (2) from transmission oil cooler (3) .

Place Tooling (A) under transmission oil cooler (3), as shown.

Disconnect tube assemblies (4), (5), and (6) from transmission oil cooler (3) .

Disconnect tube assembly (7) from transmission oil cooler (3) .

Remove two mounting bolts (8) and the washers. Repeat this procedure for the opposite side.
Use Tooling (A) in order to carefully remove transmission oil cooler (3). The weight of the transmission oil cooler is 23 kg (50 lb).
