This diagnostic code is recorded when an electronic control module (ECM) has not been flashed with the correct configuration file. System Response:This failure results in events that are logged against the VIMSTM 3G Main ECM.Test Step 1. VERIFY THE SOFTWARE PART NUMBERS
Verify that the ECM software part numbers are correct. Note: For correct part numbers, consult the product business unit.Expected Result:All software part numbers are correct. Results:
OK - All part numbers are correct. Proceed to Test Step 2.
NOT OK - All part numbers are not correct.Repair: Flash the correct configuration software. See Testing and Adjusting, "Electronic Control Module (ECM) - Flash Program".STOPTest Step 2. VERIFY DIAGNOSTIC CODE STATUS
Cycle the disconnect switch and the keyswitch on and off several times.
Turn on the disconnect switch and the keyswitch.
Check the status of MID 161 - CID 0800 - FMI 11 Expected Result:MID 161 - CID 0800 - FMI 11 is not active.Results:
OK - MID 161 - CID 0800 - FMI 11 is not active. STOP
NOT OK - MID 161 - CID 0800 - FMI 11 is active. An ECM may have failed. However, ECM failure is unlikely.Repair: Exit this procedure and perform this procedure again. Contact your Cat® dealer technical communicator.STOP
