Pavement ProfilersWhen freezing temperatures are expected, drain the water spray system and pump to prevent damage to them. If the machine is equipped with an optional high pressure water pump, this too must be drained to prevent damage.
When the system is drained, remove the drive V-belt of the water spray system from the water pump sheave and store it away from other belts and sheaves. Removing the drive belt will prevent damage to the pump that could result from starting the engine with a dry pump. On the PR-750 and PR-1000 the belts do not have to be removed as long as the spray bar control switch is left in the off position.
