A     140-7742     Sleeves     3    Note: Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, on all wires, and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, hoses, and tubes. This helps to prevent fluid loss and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Disconnect hose assemblies (1) .
Remove bolts (2) .

Remove nuts (4). Repeat for the other side.

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to broom frame (5). Apply slight upward tension. The weight of broom frame (5) is approximately 230 kg (500 lb).

Remove pin assembly (6). Drive pin (7) from the broom frame.
Remove broom frame (5) .Installation Procedure

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to broom frame (5). The weight of broom frame (5) is approximately 230 kg (500 lb). Lower broom frame (5) into position.

Install pin (7) and install pin assembly (6) .

Install nuts (4). Repeat for the other side.

Connect hose assemblies (1) .
