Verify that all of the components of the exhaust manifold are clean and free of foreign material prior to installation.
Inspect all components for wear and replace the components, if necessary.

Apply 5P-3931 Anti-Seize Compound to pipe plugs (3). Install two pipe plugs (3) to exhaust manifold (2).
Install two bellows (7), four band clamps (6), the four new high temperature bolts (1), and the new locknuts. Note: In order to ease installation of exhaust manifold (2), do not tighten the locknuts at this time.
Use two people in order to position exhaust manifold (2) and six new exhaust manifold gaskets (12) to the engine. Install Tooling (A) (not shown) in one of the oversized holes of each section of exhaust manifold (2).
Install two spacers (10), bracket assembly (4), two spacers (9), and ten spacers (11) to exhaust manifold (2).

Install 12 locknuts (5) and the washers to exhaust manifold (2). Tighten 12 locknuts (5) in the sequence that is shown in the chart to a torque of 20 3 N m (15 2 lb ft).
Tighten 12 locknuts (5) in the sequence that is shown in the chart to a torque of 38 5 N m (28 4 lb ft).
Tighten the locknuts on four band clamps (6).
Install bolt (8), the hard washer, and the nut that holds bracket assembly (4) to the exhaust tube assembly. End By:
Install the turbocharger. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Turbocharger - Install".
