3. Remove bearing support (1). 4. Remove housing retaining bolts and install 3/8"-16 NC forcing screws to separate impeller from housing. 5. Attach hoist and remove impeller and plate-weight 100 lbs. (45 kg). 6. Remove bearing inner race and seal carrier retaining ring.7. Install two 3/8"-16 NC forcing screws through bearing carrier and remove bearing and seal carrier. 8. Remove outer shaft. Hold down on stator and turn shaft clockwise while removing. 9. Remove thrust bearing.10. Remove stator. One-way clutch may fall apart. 11. Remove thrust bearing and race retaining pin. 12. Remove turbine and shaft assembly. 13. Remove thrust bearing. Assemble Torque Converter
1. Install bearing into converter housing with tool (A). 2. Install thrust bearing. 3. Install turbine and shaft assembly. Align the hole in the turbine with the notch in the thrust bearing race. 4. Install race retaining pin (2).5. Install thrust bearing. 6. Install bearing into shaft using tool (A).7. Install shaft into converter housing.
If cam ring (3) is removed from stator, heat stator in oil to 275° F (135° C) before installing. Also, master splines on cam, stator, and plate must align.
8. Install assembled stator without springs.9. Install one-way clutch rollers into stator.10. Install one-way clutch springs into stator. With the one-way clutch correctly assembled, the stator will free-wheel when turned counterclockwise.11. Install thrust bearing. 12. Install bearing (4) and seal rings on impeller shaft. 13. Install impeller and plate on converter housing. 14. Install bearing support and retaining ring (1).concluding step: a) assemble transmission
