Atmospheric pressure that is less than 70 kPa (10 psi)System Response:The ECM will log the event. The ECM limits the fuel in 2% increments for every 305 m (1,000 ft) above 3048 m (10,000 ft). The engine may be derated to a maximum of 86% of full power at 5180 m (17,000 ft).
Low power
The engine is being operated at an altitude over 3048 m (10,000 ft) above sea level.
There may be a problem with the atmospheric pressure sensor.Test Step 1. Check for Diagnostic Codes.
Connect ET to the service tool connector.
Turn the keyswitch to the ON position.
Check for any Active Diagnostic Codes or Logged Diagnostic Codes.Expected Result:There should be no diagnostic codes that are present.Results:
OK - There are no diagnostic codes that are present. The engine is still derated.Repair: The engine is being operated at an altitude in excess of 3048 m (10,000 ft) above sea level. Stop.
Not OK - There are diagnostic codes that are present.Repair: Repair the diagnostic codes that are present. Refer to the appropriate topic in the "Troubleshooting With a Diagnostic Code" section of this manual. Ensure that the repair eliminates the problem. Stop.
