1. Clean and lubricate bolts (8) and tapped hole threads in axle (5) with 2P2506 Thread Lubricant.2. Install plate (7) and bolts (8) that hold axle (5) in frame.3. While cover (4) is removed, hit the end of axle (5) with a hammer until bolts (8) can not be tightened to more than 264 27 N m (195 20 lb ft).4. Remove bolts (8) and plate (7).5. Add shims (6) behind plate (7) so that distance (A) is a minimum of 3.18 mm (.125 in).6. Install shims (6), plate (7) and bolts (8). 1. Install adjusting nut (2), and tighten until wheel does not rotate.2. Back off and rotate wheel, then retorque adjusting nut (2) to 515 27 N m (380 20 lb ft).3. Install the lock and outer nut (3). If using a pull scale to adjust bearings:1. Fasten a rope to the studs for nuts (1) with at least two full wraps around the outside circumference.2. Fasten a spring scale to the free end of the rope.3. While the wheel is turned, tighten nut (2) until a pull of 23 N (5 lb) is indicated on the scale.4. Install the lock and outer nut (3).
