Adjustment Procedure For Governor Control Linkage
All the above machines use Illustrations 1 and 2 as a reference for adjustments under the floor of the operator's station. For linkage adjustments at the governor, use the appropriate illustration for the specific model.
1. Disconnect rod (C) from governor lever (2) by removing pin (1). See the appropriate illustration. With governor lever (2) in low idle position, start engine and check to be sure low and high idle rpms are within specifications. Shut off engine.
Illustration 1. Governor control linkage at the operator's station (low idle position).2. Disconnect both ends of the cable from the levers inside aluminum housings (3) and (4).3. Disconnect rod (A) and adjust the length of rod (A) to 350.8 mm (13.81") between the bolt holes. See Illustration 1.4. With rod (A) installed, adjust linkage low idle stop (6) so that the treadle lever assembly (5) is positioned at 38.1 mm (1.50") below the floor plate as shown in Illustration 1. This is the low idle position of the treadle assembly. On machines with high detent force (when going from low idle to shut off), the distance between the treadle lever assembly and the floor plate can be increased to 50.8 mm (2.00"). This increase will allow for more cable stretch.
Illustration 2. Governor control linkage at the operator's station (high idle position).5. Adjust the length of rod (B) to 445.2 mm (17.53") between the pin holes. See Illustration 1. When the governor control linkage is against low idle stop (6), governor control handle (7) will be positioned approximately 30° from vertical.
Illustration 3. Governor control linkage at the engine on 120G and 130G Motor Graders.6. Adjust the position of the cable assembly in aluminum housings (3) and (4) (both at the engine and under the operator's station) so the shoulder of the cable is approximately 19.0 mm (.75") from the face of the housing. See Illustration 1 and the other appropriate illustration.7. At the engine, set governor lever (2) to the correct angle for the low idle position. See the appropriate illustration.8. With governor lever (2) and governor control handle (7) in the correct low idle position, adjust the cable ends so that they can be connected to the levers inside aluminum housings (3) and (4).9. Check the engine shutoff by
