(1) Secondary speed/timing sensor
(2) Primary speed/timing sensor
Remove the speed/timing sensors from the front housing. Check the condition of the plastic end of the speed/timing sensors for wear and/or contaminants.
Clean the metal shavings and other debris from the face of the speed/timing sensors.
Use the following procedure to install the speed/timing sensors.
Lubricate the seal for the speed sensors with clean engine oil.
Ensure that the speed sensors are seated before tightening the bolts.
Install the speed/timing sensors. The torque for the bolt is 28 7 N m (21 5 lb ft). If needed, refer to Troubleshooting Guide , "Engine Speed/Timing Sensor - Calibrate" in order to calibrate the speed/timing sensors.
