Loosen the clamp at the base of precleaner tray (3). Remove the rubber boot and remove the tray by pulling up on the handle. Remove the screen.
Inspect the precleaner tubes in the tray for dirt and for dust.
Use pressurized air to clean the tubes. Put the tubes on a flat surface. Direct the pressurized air into the tubes from the top in order to loosen the dirt.
Replace the precleaner tray and the rubber boot and secure with the clamp.
Loosen the camp for check valve (1).
Remove the check valve from the air cleaner housing.
Inspect the check valve for proper operation and debris build-up. The check valve hinges from the top. Inspect ejector tube (2) for debris build-up. Clean the check valve and the ejector tube if required.
Install the check valve and tighten the clamp.
Service the air cleaner only with the engine stopped. Engine damage could result.
