Mark or identify track drive motor orientation for later installation. 1. Disconnect hose assembly (1). Cap or plug immediately.2. Disconnect hose assembly (3). Cap or plug immediately.3. Disconnect hose assembly (2). Cap or plug immediately. 4. Attach a strap to track drive motor (4). The weight of the track drive motor is 25 kg (55 lb).5. Remove four bolts (5) and washers.6. Remove track drive motor (4) and O-ring from gear reducer (6). Check O-ring for wear or damage. Replace if necessary. Before installation, apply 5P0960 Molybdenum Grease to the track drive motor shaft. For installation of the track drive motor (rear), reverse the removal steps. Steps 7 through 10 are for bleeding the track drive motor.
Working under the machine with the engine running could result in personal injury. A person should be at the controls at all times.
7. Raise the machine to the upper limit.8. Install Tool (A) under the mainframe.9. Raise the track assembly off the ground.10. Check out the operation of the track drive motor. Move the travel control lever to the FORWARD and REVERSE positions several times, slowly increasing the length of stroke and cycle time each time. Operate the track at a low speed for at least 15 minutes to remove all the air from the system.
