Information:

Personal injury or death can result from grease and oil coming out of the relief valve.Grease and oil are under high pressure coming out of the relief valve and can penetrate the body.Do not watch the relief valve to see if grease is escaping. Watch the track or track adjustment cylinder to see if the track is being loosened. Make sure the vent holes are clean before the tension is released on the track.

Use the following steps in order to loosen the track.
Turn relief valve (1) to one turn counterclockwise in order to permit grease to be released from the vent hole that is below the relief valve (1). If the track does not loosen go to Step 1.b.
Turn valve (2) to one turn counterclockwise. This will permit grease to be released from the vent hole that is below the valve. If the grease is not released, go to Step 1.c.
Install a slug that is 76.2 mm (3.0 inch) in diameter. The slug should be 63.5 mm (2.5 inch) long between the track and the sprocket segment. Move the machine toward the rear so that the track will be pushed up by the slug. The front idler and the track adjuster will move to the rear of the track against the force of the recoil spring. This will push grease out of the vent holes.
