TRANSFER GROUP 5S7066 - Caterpillar

Place base plate (19) into the bottom of housing assembly (17) .
Use an allen wrench in order to install the six screws (18) .
Remove bolt (20) from the base plate (19) .Removal of Lead Screw Assembly
Remove the snap ring (9). Refer to ""Removal of Snap Ring"" in this special instruction.Remove the bushing assembly (7). Refer to ""Removal of Bushing Assembly"" in this special instruction.Remove both of the upper limit switch (4) and the lower limit switch (5). Refer to ""Removal of Limit Switch"" in this special instruction.Note: Do not unsolder the wires. Just move the limit switches to the side.Remove the main gear (2). Refer to ""Removal of Main Gear"" in this special instruction.

Remove four bolts (48) and four washers (49) from bearing support plate (50) .

Remove lead screw assembly (3) from housing assembly (17) .

Slide retainer spring (51) onto inner mast tube (37) in order to gain access to the six spacers.

Remove six spacers (53) from inner mast tube (37) with 6-32 THD in order to remove lead screw (52) .

Remove grease from lead screw (52) with the shop towel. Use 222-3117 Brake Cleaner to remove the remaining of grease on lead screw (52). Dry lead screw (52) with shop towel.
Clean the inside of inner mast tube (17) with the long round stick and the shop towel. Clean outside of inner mast tube (17) with windshield cleaner.

Apply 1P-0808 Multipurpose Grease onto lead screw (52) .

Install lead screw (52) into inner mast tube (37). Install six spacers (53) into inner mast tube (37) in order to secure lead screw (52) in place.

Slide the retainer spring (51) up the inner mast tube (37) in order to secure the six spacers (53) .

Install lead screw assembly (3) into housing assembly (17) .

Install four washers (19) and four bolts (48) into bearing support plate (50). Tighten four bolts (48) to a torque of 10.06 0.56 N m (89 5 lb in).Install the main gear (2). Refer to ""Installation of Main Gear"" in this special instruction.Install both of the upper limit switch (4) and the lower limit switch (5). Refer to ""Installation of Limit Switch"" in this special instruction.Install the bushing assembly (7). Refer to ""Installation of Bushing Assembly"" in this special instruction.Install the snap ring (9). Refer to ""Installation of Snap Ring"" in this special instruction.
