1. Drain the coolant to a level below elbow (1).2. Remove four bolts (2) and elbow (1). Remove gaskets from elbow.3. Remove bolt (3) and remove water temperature regulator (4). Install in the reverse order.4. Install a new gasket on regulator housing. Put the water temperature regulator and housing in position on the engine.5. Fill the cooling system with coolant to the correct level. See the Operation & Maintenance Guide.Disassemble Water Temperature Regulators & Housings
Start By:a. remove water temperature regulators and housings 1. Remove bolts (3) and make a separation between tube (1) and regulator housing (5). Remove gasket (2).2. Remove regulator (4) from the housing. 3. Remove seal (6) from the regulator housing with Tooling (A).Assemble Water Temperature Regulators & Housings
1. Put a small amount of clean engine oil on the seal. Install the seal in the housing with Tooling (A). Install the seal until it makes contact with the counterbore in the housing and with the lip of the seal away from the regulator. 2. Install regulator (4) in the housing.3. Install a new gasket (2) between regulator housing and tube (1). Install bolts (3) that hold tube and housing together.End By:a. install water temperature regulators and housings
