TRANSMISSION AR 1192829 - Caterpillar

1. Loosen hose clamps (1). Remove four bolts and washers (2).2. Remove two breather tubes (3) from the left side of the engine. 3. Remove three nuts, washers and bolts (7). Remove elbow (6).4. Remove eight locknuts, washers and spacers (8) that hold the exhaust manifolds in position.5. Remove exhaust manifolds (4) and (5) as a unit. Remove the gaskets.Install Exhaust Manifolds
1. Check gaskets and seal rings for damage. If damaged, use new parts for replacement. 1. Put 9M3710 Anti-Seize Compound on the threads of studs (2).2. Put gaskets (3) in position on the cylinder heads. 3. Install exhaust manifolds (1) and (4) as a unit. Install the spacers, washers and locknuts to hold the exhaust manifolds in position. Tighten the nuts in number sequence shown to a torque of 38 5 lb.ft. (49 7 N m).4. Install the seal rings in the coupling.5. Put 9M3710 Anti-Seize Compound on the threads of the bolts that hold the elbow to the exhaust manifolds. 6. Put elbow (5) and the gasket in position and tighten the bolts and nuts that hold the elbow to the exhaust manifold.7. Install the breather tubes on the left hand side of the engine.end by:a) install engine
