Tilt the operator platform. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Operator Platform - Tilt".Note: SERVICE DATA: TOOLING (ZZ) WILL NOT BE IDENTIFIED IN PHOTOGRAPHS IN THE REMOVAL OR THE INSTALLATION. THIS TOOLING IS SHOWN IN ORDER TO ASSIST THE EXPERIENCED SERVICEMAN.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: Put identification marks on all hoses, on all hose assemblies, on all wires, and on all tube assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies and all tube assemblies. This helps to prevent fluid loss, and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.
Open the drain valve at the bottom of the fuel tank. Drain the fuel from the fuel tank into a suitable container. The capacity of the fuel tank is approximately 113 L (30 US gal).

Disconnect hose assemblies (1) and (2) .

Remove bolts (4) that fasten control valve (5) to the fuel tank.
Disconnect harness assembly (6) .
Support the fuel tank. Remove bolts (3) and remove the fuel tank.

Remove bolts (7) and remove fuel level sender assembly (10) and gasket (9) .
Remove tube assembly (8) and O-ring seal (11) .Installation Procedure
Note: Check the O-ring seals, the gaskets, and the seals for wear or for damage. Replace the components, if necessary.

Install O-ring seal (11) and tube assembly (8) .
Install gasket (9), fuel level sender assembly (9), and bolts (7) .

Install the fuel tank and bolts (3) .
Connect harness assembly (6) .
Install remote control valve (5) and bolts (4) .
