Procure new spring (5) .
Remove nut (1) that is shown in Illustration 1.

Location Of Components For The Installation Procedure (2) 190-5891 Nut (4) 085-9916 Capsule (D) Measurement
Measure distance (D) between nut (2) and capsule (4). Record the measurement. The location of the components is shown in Illustration 3.
Loosen nut (2) and gasket (3). Remove the former capsule (4) .
Assemble new spring (5), gasket (3), and nut (2) .Note: Assemble the new spring so that the distance between the nut and the spring equals measurement (D) that was recorded in Step 3. Do not exceed the torque specifications for spring (5) .
Install new spring (5). Tighten nut (2) to 14 2 N m (10.3 1.5 lb ft). Tighten nut (1) to 18 2 N m (13.3 1.5 lb ft).Adjust Engine RPM and Confirm Performance
Start the engine. Make sure that the engine rpm is steady at the following settings: engine speed dial "1" through engine speed dial "10".
If necessary, adjust spring (5) in order to achieve a steady rpm.
Make sure that the engine does not exhibit a hunting condition at the following settings: engine speed dial "1" through engine speed dial "10".
Make sure that the low engine idle is at 900 rpm 50 rpm.
Make sure that the high engine idle is 1860 rpm 50 rpm at engine speed dial "10".

Adjust the calibration of the governor actuator. The location of spring (5) is shown in Illustration 4.Reference: Systems Operation, RENR3814, "Engine and Pump Electronic System"
Make sure that the engine does not exhibit a hunting condition at the following settings: engine speed dial "1" through engine speed dial "4".
